Discipleship

Sunday School Classes

Sunday School classes are a primary mode of faith formation at Tabernacle. Teaching basic Bible stories, characteristics of Jesus, these classes are designed to teach children fundamentals of faith. However, the goal is always to encourage children to think for themselves, to ask good, deep questions about their faith so that it becomes theirs; a personal relationship with God.

  • Children (K-6th)
  • Preschool (2s & 5s)
  • Toddlers (1s, 2s, & 3s)
  • Nursery (Birth to 2)

Wednesday Evening Classes

The goal of our Wednesday evenings for children is to provide opportunities to experience two important aspects of the life of the faithful; music and mission study. Children participate in classes that allow them to explore different types of ministry taking place all over the world to right here in our own city of Richmond, and even in our very neighborhood. Not only this, music classes are focused on learning the fundamentals of music that are so important in the congregational setting, familiarizing with tunes that often deepen faith in later years, while also learning valuable life skills of discipline, working together, and sharing what has been learned in worship as an offering to God. These classes also allow children to interact with one another and build friendships with other children who may or may not be like them.
