Specific needs for VBS (2011)

EVERYONE HAS SOMETHING TO OFFER FOR VBS Children and Youth Development is an important part of our ministry here at Tabernacle Baptist Church. One of the greatest opportunities we have to walk alongside our children in faith for- mation occurs annually during Vacation Bible School.

At the Shake It Up Café VBS, we will be explor- ing the Bible as an exciting cookbook filled with recipes for living out God’s Word. By celebrating biblical festivals, your children will:

• Be ready for God • Give happily to God • Believe fully in Jesus • Remember Jesus often • Celebrate God forever!

We will need your help in the weeks ahead as we begin to make preparations. Please be sure to stop by the display in the sanctuary to select an item you can bring to VBS. Donated items can be returned to the base of the VBS display on or before July 3. Also, we ask that you save your empty paper towel rolls and cereal boxes. We are in great need of these during VBS. You can deposit them in the box outside of Ben’s office or in the box in the Fellowship Hall. Please contact Ben at lucas@tbcrichmond.org if you have any questions. Thank you for your help!

pull up weeds around church building

wipe out al window sills in fellowship hall

Discard age inappropriate toys in play nook and clean others

straighten all pew cushions

Dust all pews in Sanctuary

Weed mulch bed in Meadow Parking Lot

Could use some help weeding the mulch bed in the Meadow Street Parking Lot entrance. Approximately time = 45 minutes for one person

Punch holes in Candle cans

Periodically, we host evening events and use metal coffee cans to light a path up to the portico. We need one or two people to come and hammer holes in the cans. It only takes two short steps:

1) freeze cans

2) hammer hole with nail

HELP US HELP YOUTH

The youth had such a great time at Passport Camp this summer.  They are already preparing for next year.  The youth have committed themselves to work their way to camp, as well as other activities.  They need your help to give them opportunities to raise their funds by doing various tasks in your homes or yards.  Take a look at the board in the back of the Sanctuary and you will see a list of jobs the youth can do.  These jobs can be done for you or another deserving person.  The youth thank you for your help.
